What is included in a luxury yacht rental in Cape Town?
Our luxury yacht rentals typically include a professional skipper and crew, safety equipment, fuel for the agreed route, and onboard refreshments or catering as specified in your package. Bespoke additions such as gourmet dining, champagne, and water sports equipment can be arranged on request.
How much does it cost to rent a luxury yacht in Cape Town?
Costs vary depending on the vessel, charter duration, and group size. Our packages start from R19,800 for a 2-hour harbour cruise up to R110,000 for a premium 2-night overnight charter. Contact our specialists for a personalised quote.
Do I need a boating license to rent a yacht?
No. All FIGARIE yacht charters include a qualified, licenced skipper and crew. You simply enjoy the experience — no boating licence required.
What is the best time of year to rent a yacht in Cape Town?
Cape Town sailing is best between October and April when the weather is warm and winds are favourable. November to February offers the most settled summer conditions. That said, our experienced skippers manage year-round charters with safety and comfort in mind.
Can I bring my own food and drinks?
Yes. Guests are welcome to bring their own food and beverages. Alternatively, our team can arrange full catering, a private chef, or a curated canapé and champagne package in advance.
What activities are available on a yacht charter in Cape Town?
Activities include snorkelling, swimming at anchor, whale and dolphin watching, fishing (seasonal), sunset photography, and private dining on deck. We tailor each charter to your group's interests.
How many guests can a yacht accommodate?
Our fleet accommodates groups ranging from 2 to 45 guests depending on the vessel. The Hazendal and Princess Emma yachts cater for up to 8–12 guests for an intimate experience, while the Spirit of Victoria accommodates up to 45.
Is tipping required for the crew?
Gratuities are not included in the charter price and are at the discretion of guests. A tip of 10–15% of the charter cost is customary and greatly appreciated by the crew.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Guest safety is our absolute priority. If conditions are deemed unsafe by the skipper, we will reschedule at no additional cost or offer a full refund. Our team monitors forecasts closely and will communicate with you in advance of your charter.
How far in advance should I book a luxury yacht in Cape Town?
We recommend booking at least 2–4 weeks in advance to secure your preferred vessel and date, especially during peak summer season (November–February). Last-minute bookings are sometimes possible — please contact us directly.
